Difference Between Bulk Up and Cutting in Bodybuilding

Milk, eggs, sprouts, peas, and others are great natural sources of protein but when it comes to pursue a certain type of fitness goals, supplements like iso sensation are the best way to take the protein. Bodybuilding is a lifestyle which needs a ton of dedication along with healthy diets and training but people miss the role of nutrients and healthy habits most often. There are mainly two phases of bodybuilding: 1. Bulk up 2. Shredding

In bulk people have to make their routine to gain big muscles so they have to eat a lot at a certain time of period but in shredding people have to concentrate on taking care of their vitamins, protein, fats, minerals mostly. But both phases require a good amount of protein. Here is a comparison of which phase is better ?

Bulk Up: 

  • Generally people think bulk up means you have to eat whatever you like. For a larger extent, they are right but not completely. You have to focus on eating clean. Sometimes junk foods are okay but not for taking your complete calories from them. You have to include clean and natural foods to take calories like banana, milk, calorie rich vegetables, and others.
  • Exercise plays an important role in bulk up because your meal should not convert into fats but maintain the muscles. While bulking up you have to focus on heavy weight lifting which requires immense energy. Many be for bulking up time, you have your tummy out but it doesn’t matter until it is not causing any issue. Stop doing intense cardio exercises as they only break muscles.
  • Supplements for bulk up should be different that must be focusing on gaining muscles and strength for lifting weights. Mass gainer, protein, weight gainer are the best supplements for this time.

Leaning: 

  • Lean muscle mass gain is also called shredding. You have to be very careful while putting anything in your mouth. You have to count calories per meal on a daily basis. Mostly you have to remove calories from carbs in your diet and focus on other nutrients like protein, fats, vitamins, and minerals.
  • Exercises are different here. You need not to focus on heavy weight lifting but the frequency of particular exercises. Stay away from intense cardio exercises as they break muscles. Drop down sets are important in every exercise to get better cutting.
  • Supplements like BCAAs, protein, creatine, pre workout, and other are very important for lean muscle mass gain. Along with that they have protein, fats, vitamins and minerals from natural sources like green leafy vegetables, fruits, herbal juice, milk, egg whites, nuts, and others.

Conclusion:

For a complete bodybuilding, you have to go through both of the phases. You can’t just say I don’t like bulk up or I will only stay in shredding. You have to follow certain rules of bulking up and shredding. None is better than the other one. It is up to you which phase you are in and how much you are investing in yourself.
