IBPS SO Exams contain 3 tests, Preliminary, Mains and Interview. Preliminary exams for IBPS SO are same as that of other bank posts like clerk and probationary officer, but in the main exam question paper is entirely different as the main exam is to check candidates’ deep knowledge in respective fields.
IBPS SO MAIN EXAM PATTERN FOR IT OFFICER
IBPS SO main exam paper is called Professional knowledge, it has 60 questions containing 60 marks which need to be completed in 45 minutes. There are no descriptive questions like Rajbhasha Adhikari post. And the question paper also is in both English and hindi.

Prioritise Most Important Topics
If you have gone through previous year question papers you will be aware that database management system, operating system and networking is most important out of all the topics. 30-40 questions come from these topics alone and if you don’t have much time to prepare then it’s advisable to learn every nook and corner from these topics.Solve as many theoretical questions as possible from old question papers, so that you understand the topics deeply. Also try many mock tests that will give you more understanding of your knowledge of the topic.

There may be many books in the market on IBPS SO IT Officer but most of the books carry a lot of unwanted study material, that will only make your time fly without any benefits. As mentioned above about the 3 main topic to focus it always advisable to read Fundamentals of Database Systems by Elmasri & Nawathe for questions related to DBMS, Operating System Concepts by Avi Silberschatz, Peter Baer Galvin and Greg Gagne for Operating systems and Data communications and networking by Behrouz A Forouzan for Networking.
